How to Embrace Life's Unknowns l The Friday 3: December 3, 2021
Every week in the Friday 3, I share what’s happening in the intersecting spheres of branding, pitching the media, and psychology.
1) I'm reminding myself...
to “share and tell” something people don’t know.
Whether you are writing a book, getting ready for a TED Talk, or posting on Instagram, is what are you sharing new and novel?
Amazon does this simply when they tell us “customers who bought this, also bought this.” That’s new information.
Whatever you are posting or creating this week, remember to share content that is new and relevant.
2) I'm watching...
the TEDTalk video from Brett Turpack on “Dancing In The Grey.”
As a mental health advocate and speaker, Brett teaches us how surfing has taught her to surrender, to accept, and to dance confidently in the grey. In her video, Brett explains how most of us want things to be black and white where things are known and safe, however, in reality, life brings us moments of grey with so many unknowns. It’s by paddling through these grey and uncertain areas of life that bring us clarity, direction, and strength.
“When we dance confidently in the grey, the colors of life show up so much brighter.”
- Brett Turpack

3) I'm reading...
the poetry book of Cleo Wade called “Heart Talk: Poetic Wisdom for a Better Life."
At age 6, Cleo Wade “fell in love with poetry” after taking a summer course in poetry. At 21, she published her first book “Heart Talk: Poetic Wisdom for a Better Life.”
Here is one of her inspirational quotes:
“Don’t be the reason someone feels insecure. Be the reason someone feels seen, heard and supported by the whole universe.”
- Cleo Wade
