How Important is Being on TikTok for Your Brand? l The Friday 3: July 2, 2021
It's already July! Can't believe it. Happy 4th to all, and I hope you enjoy this holiday weekend! Here's some recommendations from me of what you should be listening to, reading, and watching this week...
1) What I'm Listening To...
This month marked the 50th anniversary of Joni Mitchell’s Blue album and her songs were celebrated in all forms of the media for their enduring brilliance.
If you are a fan of Joni Michell like me or curious about her body of work, you may enjoy this New York Times article on “50 Reason’s To Love the Album Blue” with reflections and insights from the likes of James Taylor, Graham Nash, and Corrie Bailey Ray.
And to hear a direct and personal message from Joni to her fans, you can check out her personal message on her Instagram page.
2) What I'm Reading... Recipes from Cookie + Kate celebrating whole foods. Kate cooks fresh, vegetarian recipes and her dog, Cookie, picks up the crumbs. The path to healthy eating is paved with real food and it doesn’t need to be difficult!
3) What I'm Watching...
I’m watching videos on TikTok in preparation for my interview with Hannah Lauson, TikTok Strategist for CNN Underscored, next Friday, July 9th.
Here's 3 things you need to know about TikTok:
1. The TikTok mobile app allows users to create short videos, which often feature music in the background and can be sped up, slowed down, or edited with a filter.
2. The "For You" page on TikTok is a feed of videos that are recommended to users based on their activity on the app.
3. The app's "duet" feature allows users to film their reaction to a specific video, a unique way to boost the visibility of videos on the app.
If you are curious and would like to learn more about TikTok and how it can enhance your brand, join us on Friday, July 9th and ask your questions in the live chat. Happy July 4th weekend!
