1) I'm looking up..

What exactly Labor Day is all about.


As it turns out, we are celebrating the contributors and achievements of all American workers. On Labor Day we celebrate the history of American’s work force from our farmers, to our builders, to our executives and entrepreneurs. Whatever field you are in, blue collar or white, it’s a reminder to all of us to take some time off, to rest, and celebrate our work and accomplishments.

2) I'm learning more about...

Trauma.


As a student of mental health, I am learning how trauma impacts us in many ways. For example, you can experience trauma from a divorce or job loss. A friend sent me this TikTok video on trauma from a science educator who is not a medical professional, but someone who learned about it through therapy.


Three things to know about trauma:

1. Trauma is an injury, not an illness.

2. The injury is not your fault, but healing it is.

3. Trauma comes back as a reaction, not as a memory.

How to set an intention.


Everything we do in life first starts with an intention. Whether you decide to call a friend, start a new project or find new clients, it all starts with the intention.


According to brain expert and author Jim Kwik, here are the 3 steps to setting your intention:

1. Decide what you want with clarity. (set it)

2. Decide why you want it. (feel it)

3. Take action (work for it)
